My name is Laura Corkhill, I studied the SWAP: Access to Health and Life Sciences course at Fife College.

The reason l choose to study at Fife College was because they offered a course that was ideal for people like me who wanted to return to education. I'm 30 now and a mum of two kids, but always wanted to progress onto university and become a Paramedic.

The SWAP course was amazing and worked really well for me. It had different modules such as chemistry, biology, physics, IT and maths, which was great for me as l had been out of education for a long time and needed to brush up on these skills before moving onto university.

What l enjoyed most about my time at Fife College was meeting new friends who were a similar age and had similar interests. We all helped each other, and the tutors were also really helpful.

Since completing my course, l have now progressed onto university and attend Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. l am going into my second year now as a paramedic student and look forward to progressing more with my studies.
