Employability programmes provide vocational skills and experience to support unemployed people into work or higher level study.

With an emphasis on work experience, these courses will help you to develop the skills and confidence that employers are looking for, as well as gaining recognised qualifications that will enhance your C.V. and improve your job prospects.

Fife College currently has places available on the following Employability programmes, starting from January 2017.

Employability (Stage 2)

Providing you with the opportunity to gain confidence, further qualifications and valuable work experience to assist you to move on to further training, employment, a modern apprenticeship opportunity or a full-time college course.


Duration and Attendance

12 week programme


Entry requirements

Applicants must be aged between 16 - 17 years

If you are interested in applying for a place on this programme, you should contact your local Jobcentre or Skills Development Scotland Centre and let them know which one you are interested in.

They will check that you meet the entry requirements for the course and will make a referral to Fife College on your behalf.


2017 Employability Fund Stage 3 - Be Ready to Work

Start dates available throughout January - March

SCQF Level 4

Develop your employability skills and work readiness through vocational learning and a 9 week work placement, which will enhance your learning and understanding of the workplace and provide an opportunity for you to gain employment, a Modern Apprenticeship opportunity or a full-time college place.

 

What You Study

  • Employability Sessions

  • Mock Interviews

  • Certificate of Work Readiness level 4

  • Employability Award Level 4


Duration and Attendance

  • 12 Weeks Full-time

  • 3 weeks in college and up to a 9 week work placement

  • Course availability on request

  • Training allowance and travel expenses paid

 

Entry Requirements

You must be 16 – 18 years old.

 

Further Study

The programme provides you with experiences that can help you gain employment or a place in College.
