Students have the opportunity to study a number of business improvement techniques, commonly referred to as Lean Six Sigma methodology. Competencies covered depend on the aspirations and work needs of the candidates, and subjects covered include health and safety, teamwork, workplace organisation, visual management and standard operating procedures, plus a broad range of options including process flow optimisation, value stream mapping, mistake proofing and statistical process control. The difference between the qualification levels follows the number of units pursued and the depth of knowledge required. Level 2 comprises 5 mandatory and 1 optional unit. Level 3 comprises 6 mandatory and 2 optional units. Level 4 comprises 7 mandatory and 5 optional units.
