Legal Services is a subject that opens the door into a wide range of specialist careers and professions, prepares you for the real world of work, and allows you to gain recognised and respected qualifications that mean you can keep your options open.

Here are just 4 ways that studying Legal Services could prove to be the catalyst for your dream job:

1 – You’ll develop people skills

People skills are incredibly practical and useful to possess. Not only will they help you debate, discuss, and negotiate your way through different situations when you’re in a job, they’ll also help you during conversations and interviews that could lead to you getting your foot in the door and gaining the opportunity to show what you can do.

Regardless of the career path that’s right for you, being a confident, articulate, courteous, and professional person will make you an asset to any organisation and improve your employment opportunities.

Legal Services includes units aimed at improving your communication and research skills, which both allow you to develop and grow your people skills.

2 – You’ll receive a broad education

The beauty of studying Legal Services is that you won’t be boxing yourself in. Quite the opposite; you’ll have the opportunity to learn about property and Conveyancing, commercial, and private law, as well as ethics and cash handling, and communication and research skills.

Being able to explore so many different areas within the same qualification gives you a fantastic grounding and allows you to take the next step towards your dream job – no matter what that is.

4 – Study at degree level locally

Did you know that an HNC is the same as the first year of a degree at university? And that and HND is the same as the second year?

That certainly sounds great, but what does it mean for you? It means that you can study at degree level locally at our Halbeath Campus in Dunfermline. This'll let you keep your costs for travel, living and study to a minimum while you build your qualifications.

Another benefit of studying Legal Services at college is that after each year, you will have gained a recognised and sought-after qualification; and HNC and then an HND. Studying with us at Fife College also means that you will have access to a variety of progression routes from HND: Legal Services to third year of degrees at universities throughout Scotland and the UK.

Alternatively, if a job opportunity comes up that is too good to pass up, you'll have qualifications that will allow you to go for it. You'll have the best of both worlds!
