Fife College’s new Levenmouth Campus in Buckhaven is now open and welcoming students who will be studying a wide range of courses.
Students have been enrolling over the last few weeks at the new campus in Methilhaven Road, Buckhaven and some last minute places are still available for those considering coming to College.
Janet McCauslin, Project Director for the new campus said: “Our new campus is a fantastic place to come and study locally – it has been designed with our students at the heart and it’s great to see the building now full of life and ready to fulfil its purpose – to prepare our students for great future careers.”
One of the courses available is Access to Retail, a popular course which was previously run at the former campus in Victoria Road, Leven. Petra Schorova, 30 from Buckhaven, was a former student on the course who is confident that her new skills will equip her better for a job in retail. Petra was delighted to be an individual winner in a College wide Respect competition for her word montage which promoted respect at Fife College. Petra’s classmates also had their work highlighted which showed how well they can work in a team.
Petra, 30 from Buckhaven, has been on a range of courses at College, starting with Step In, Access to Retail and then Advanced Retail. During her studies she enjoyed a range of placements including one with the Salvation Army and at Brag Enterprise. Said Petra: I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Retail courses which have helped me gain a wide range of skills and boost my confidence. The new campus looks amazing and I would recommend the courses to everyone.”
