Community care took centre stage as Team 92 graduated from their transformative Prince’s Trust course. Amongst other projects, the group raised £800 with a sponsored cycle.

Fife College is proud to announce the graduation of Team 92 from the Prince's Trust Programme, marking the culmination of an intensive three-month journey. The programme – known for transforming lives through diverse challenges and skill-building activities – has continued to empower young people to step confidently into their futures.

The recent graduates took part in a series of challenging, but rewarding, activities that tested and developed their skillsets. The students engaged in team-building exercises, honing their communication skills and participated in a community project that had a meaningful impact, boosting both personal and professional growth. The project was a clean-up on The Cottage Family Centre’s communal garden space, restoring it to its best.

An important part of the three-month experience was the individual work placements they underwent, providing each student with firsthand experience in a work environment. This helped to equip them with practical insights and skills, building their employability and readiness for the workforce.

In one of the major highlights of the course, Team 92 further showed care and commitment to their community, organising a sponsored cycle; a round trip from Dunfermline to Alloa, covering 29 miles!

The fundraiser meant that the group successfully raised £800, contributing towards the purchase of a 'Cuddle Bed' for Victoria Hospital Hospice. This specialised bed, costing around £21,000, will provide immense comfort to families experiencing palliative care, making a significant difference in their lives during challenging times.

James Thomson, Fife College’s Deputy Principal, attended Team 92’s graduation. James said:

“I was honoured to join with others in celebrating the students’ success at their recent graduation. It was fantastic to see the hard work and efforts of Team 92. The Prince’s Trust programme helps people grow their confidence, discover things they are passionate about, and gain experience to help them go into student futures or start the next stage of their careers.

“The students and their families told me about the significant impact the Prince’s Trust programme has made to their lives and how much better they were for taking part in it.”

Team 92’s graduation underscores the continued role the Prince’s Trust has enriching the lives of young people. Would you, or someone you know, benefit from this transformative experience?
