NQ Start Here for Qualifications SCQF Level 4

SCQF Level 4

This course is the best place to start if you have no qualifications, or if you have very few qualifications. It provides an introduction to academic study.

What You Study

Subjects will include:

  • English
  • Maths
  • A Social Science subject

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time.

Entry Requirements

This course does not require you to have formal qualifications. However, you will need to be able to demonstrate an interest in improving your skills and an ability to work at SCQF Level 4.

Further Study

  • NQ Pathway to HNC/D and Degree Level 5
  • Pathway to Social Sciences Level 5
  • Other SCQF Level 4 courses in a range of areas, including Engineering, Care, Social Science, Creative Industries and much more

Career Opportunities

This course is intended mainly to help you to develop your existing qualifications to enter other courses. However, most employers are looking for staff who have good English and Maths skills. You may be able to apply for jobs where a good basic education is required.

As well as meeting the appropriate entry requirements, selection on to this programme will be based on criteria outlined in Fife College’s Admissions Procedure, which may include a Personal Statement, an interview and a satisfactory reference or Transition Form.
