Adrianne Webster
HND Practical Journalism

“I learned some invaluable skills during my time on the Practical Journalism course, which have benefited me greatly in my new role as a freelance journalism job with DC Thomson in Dundee. Our lecturers were a particular driving force in helping us all understand how to write engaging features and helped us create student magazine ‘Browser’ which ended up winning Scottish Student Publication of the Year at the Scottish Student Journalism Awards 2014 which was a fantastic achievement.

"The best part about college for me was having great opportunities to meet influential people from within the journalism industry and working as part of an award-winning team. In my opinion Fife College offers one of the best journalism courses in the country; you can leave following a two-year course with industry standard qualifications that you wouldn’t get elsewhere."

Lecturer Marie Penman was very pleased to hear of Adrianne’s success and said: “I’m delighted to hear that Adrianne has achieved this success so soon after graduating. She worked very hard as a student, was always willing to go the extra mile and is especially suited to magazine journalism after the key role she played in producing our award-winning college magazine last year!”
