SWAP Access to Humanities

“I was advised by the College’s Guidance team that the Access to Humanities course could help me on the pathway to Further Education at university.

“Before coming to Scotland, I worked for the British government in Afghanistan. I was relocated with my family to Kirkcaldy in July 2015. I first heard about Fife College from my social worker and then contacted Guidance before applying for the Access course.

“I found the course very interesting and useful. It is broadening my knowledge. My favourite parts of the course were definitely my friendly and lovely classmates and the flexible and respectful lecturers. I also really enjoyed walking to college every morning.

“Having completed the Access course, and having attained a good level of skills and knowledge, I have been offered a place studying Politics, Economics and Social History at the University of Edinburgh. I have also been offered a place on Economics and Politics at the University of Dundee and Stirling University.

“I would absolutely recommend the course to those who has been away from education for more than few years and want to get back into it. It is the right course to lead you through to university for Further Education.

“After finishing my honour degree in addition to my personal plan, career. I would devise a comprehensive plan to bring economic and political stability in the world. This plan would help to reduce the poverty in the in the world and in poor countries especially. I am also considering my post graduate education after finishing my honour degree.”
