If you are under 18 years old on the start date of the course, you may be eligible for an EMA.

This is assessed according to your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) household income. The table below will give you a guide to what weekly payment you may receive.*

Important Information

If your Funding Award application is successful,

  • The maximum amount of EMA paid to you will be £1,080.00 per year

  • You will not receive your first payment until after you have attended your first class. Make sure you budget accordingly for the first couple of weeks of term.

  • EMA is paid fortnightly in arrears based on 100% attendance.

  • EMA is not paid during the following holidays: October, Christmas and Easter. Make yourself aware of what this means for you and budget accordingly.

  • A Learner Agreement must be signed before payment can be released. You will be advised of this when you hand in your Funding Award Application form.

  • Applications received after 6 weeks from the start of the course will not be backdated – payments will start from the date we receive full documentation



Your Student Funding Application form will be sent out to you and only once you have firmly accepted your unconditional offer of a place at Fife College.

Please take time to fill your application form in carefully and return as soon as possible with all your supporting evidence. A handy funding guide will be sent out with your application form and this will detail the evidence that you will need.
