Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) aims to tackle inequality, discrimination and disadvantage in Fife through the provision of high quality information, advice and representation services. These services are free, confidential, non-judgemental and independent. CARF also aims to influence, inform and promote change in local and national policy to enhance the social welfare of people in Fife.
CARF is a volunteer led organisation with many years' experience supporting and developing volunteers. Recognition of this was recently acknowledged with the receipt of the Volunteer Friendly Award, a quality standard for good practice in working with volunteers. There is a wide range of opportunities available, meaning whatever experiences individuals bring, the skills they want to develop or the time commitment they can make, there is probably something suitable. The role of an adviser is the most popular and one where it's easy to see the change you can make to someone's life just with the right bit of information. It needs the most training (6 - 9 months to reach competence) and most commitment, but also provides the most opportunity to develop a wide range of skills. When you complete the General Adviser training, you'll be issued with an open badge, with further badge opportunities also available.

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
We offer care for the whole family in our two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch. We also run a homecare service called CHAS at Home helping families in their own homes across Scotland when they need it most.
We are currently supporting over 415 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support.
Our services are funded mainly through the generosity of our many supporters who help us to raise the vital funds needed to provide these hospice services.

We take the time to get to know both of you and understand how we can support you both to relax and enjoy yourselves. Our holidays have a maximum of 10 guests and our caring and compassionate staff with experience in dementia are on hand to give you extra support at the house and when we are out and about.
Lead Scotland - Volunteer Befrienders Lead Scotland’s Fife Befriending project is a service is for adults (16+) and older people in Fife who feel isolated, lonely or disconnected, perhaps as a result of disability, ill health or other circumstances. We are recruiting volunteers from the local community to offer one to one support to enable adults and older people to improve their confidence, to try new activities and to make more connections with their communities and local services. You do not need to have any qualifications as full training and support will be given. This role is more about who you are, not what you have done!
Lead Scotland - Volunteer Opportunities

Lead Scotland is a voluntary organisation set up to widen access to learning for disabled young people and adults, and carers We support learners to learn something new. This can include computing skills, literacy and numeracy skills, improving employability skills or study an area of interest. The experience can be flexible to suit both learner and volunteer. Volunteers will receive induction training, support to carry out their role and own self-development, travel expenses, further training opportunities, the opportunity to meet new people and, most importantly, a good experience!
