Voluntary Opportunities & Internships

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) aims to tackle inequality, discrimination and disadvantage in Fife through the provision of high quality information, advice and representation services.  These services are free, confidential, non-judgemental and independent.  CARF also aims to influence, inform and promote change in local and national policy to enhance the social welfare of people in Fife.

CARF is a volunteer led organisation with many years' experience supporting and developing volunteers.  Recognition of this was recently acknowledged with the receipt of the Volunteer Friendly Award, a quality standard for good practice in working with volunteers.  There is a wide range of opportunities available, meaning whatever experiences individuals bring, the skills they want to develop or the time commitment they can make, there is probably something suitable.  The role of an adviser is the most popular and one where it's easy to see the change you can make to someone's life just with the right bit of information.  It needs the most training (6 - 9 months to reach competence) and most commitment, but also provides the most opportunity to develop a wide range of skills.  When you complete the General Adviser training, you'll be issued with an open badge, with further badge opportunities also available.

There is lots more information on our website and listed below you can also find details of all the roles available and how you can get in touch with us.

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

We offer care for the whole family in our two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch. We also run a homecare service called CHAS at Home helping families in their own homes across Scotland when they need it most.

We are currently supporting over 415 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support.

Our services are funded mainly through the generosity of our many supporters who help us to raise the vital funds needed to provide these hospice services.

To watch a short film about CHAS and the work we carry out please click HERE

CHAS Volunteering Poster

Can you spare a few hours of your time? Every hour given by one of our volunteers in our shops raises over £20 for CHAS. That’s enough to provide one hour’s specialist nursing care for a child at one of our hospices.

Want to update your Customer Service or Visual Merchandise Skills...then we need YOU.  Please click CHAS Volunteering Poster for details.
