eBooks

eBooks can be accessed both on and off campus from any PC with an internet connection. We have some core textbooks available. Use the Library Catalogue (on campus access only) to search all our titles from one place rather than going to each eBook site separately.

Credo Reference​ – an online reference resource containing dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesaurus and books of quotations. If you're accessing Credo Reference from outwith the College use this link.

Dawsonera – click on 'sign in'. Choose to login with Shibboleth and use your College network login.

EBL - Ebooks on renewables and CAD.

Ebrary – access to thousands of e-books covering many different subjects including business, care and computing.

Ebrary – Cyber Bullying Searchable Information Centre – a free collection of eBooks on cyber bullying. Note that many of these are published in the US.

MyiLibrary – a selection of titles on business, computing,  welding and teaching.

British Library Archival Sound Recordings – listen to spoken word and music from British Library collections.

Hairdressing Training Tutorials – 19 new videos from Hairdressing Training to support hairdressing students and teachers, professional hairdressers and others working in the health and beauty industry.

JISC Mediahub – lots of images, videos and audio files for use in education. On campus login via direct access. If you're accessing from outwith the College use this link.

John Johnson Collection -Access to the John Johnson Collection of printed ephemera covering advertising, entertainment, crime and popular prints from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Primal Pictures Anatomy and Physiology Online – access 3-dimensional images, animations and illustrations of human anatomy. Also contains 250 clinical topics and case studies.

Safetyhub (formerly Montie) – health and safety videos. Access through the Library eresources page on ilearn.

Scran – 370,000 images, movies and sound. If accessing from outwith the College use this link.

VADs – the online resource for visual arts. Digital image collections free for educational use.

Biological Sciences Review Archive –  Online access to back issues of the Biological Sciences Review.  Access is through the Library eresources page on  iLearn.

British Periodicals - This database provides access to the searchable full text of hundreds of periodicals from the late seventeenth century to the early twentieth, comprising millions of high-resolution facsimile page images. Topics covered include literature, philosophy, history, science, the social sciences, music, art, drama, archaeology and architecture.

Infotrac/Gale Virtual Reference Library – full text newspaper, journal and magazine on all subjects.

JISC Journal Archives - A collection of articles from over 450 journals published by Brill, Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Physics, ProQuest, Oxford University Press and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Nursery World - Online access to the periodical Nursery World.  If accessing outside the college use this link.

Periodicals Archive Online - Archive of hundreds of journals published in the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Vogue Archive - The Vogue Archive is part of the ProQuest subscription.  The Vogue Archive is a digitised archive of the US Vogue magazine from the 1890's to the present issues.  It contains useful resources for fashion and photography as well as those studying culture and gender issues.

Digimap – Digimap for Colleges provides easy access to a range of up to date Ordnance Survey digital mapping for Great Britain.  You can access detailed maps showing building outlines, street level maps, road atlas style maps and maps for outdoor activities.  Please Note: This resource is only available from PCs in College. 

Early European Books - Early European Books traces the history of printing in Europe from its origins through to the close of the seventeenth century, offering full-colour, high-resolution facsimile images of rare and hard-to-access printed sources. Hairdressing Training – online training resource for hairdressing education.

Historical Texts - Provides access to over 350,000 late 15th to 19th Century texts.

House of Commons Parliamentary Papers – includes over 200,000 House of Commons sessional papers from 1715 to the present, with supplementary material back to 1688.

Issues Online – information on social including abortion, politics and the environment. Log in using your home institution (shibboleth).
