Current occupation: Head Graphic Designer, Edition Media
Where studied: Fife College

When I left Kirkcaldy High School in 2015 I came to Fife College to study NC Electrical Engineering. I soon realised I was on the wrong path, I’d always liked art and so changed to Visual Communication which I felt had more options at the end of the course for me. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after the course was over, I felt it was the right decision for me to start from the NC, then the HNC/D before going onto the Degree. I am so glad I did it this way.

I studied at the Glenrothes campus, which was useful for me because I was able to drive to and from the campus. Our degree course was an Abertay degree taught at Fife College, which was perfect and meant I didn’t need to move away from home.

I enjoyed the atmosphere at College, everyone was very friendly and the students on my course all kept up each other's sprits when deadlines got close. We were like a little team helping each other out.

After graduating in 2021 I was delighted to secure a job as head graphic designer for Edition Media on their Edition Dog Magazine, the UK’s most read monthly dog publication.

I work from our offices in Dunfermline and from home and I’m pleased with the way my career is progressing, I enjoy where I work and I’m very happy. It’s all been worth it and I’m excited to see what the future may bring thanks to a great start at Fife College.
