My name is Eilidh Hutchison and I’m studying HNC Business Management at Fife College.

I left high school in 2019 and started a Level 1 professional cookery course and after that I went on to do the Advanced Certificate in Business and Enterprise with Fife College and then moved on to my HNC, so I have a mixture of business and cookery skills.

The HNC is really good because we get a mixture of everything. I most enjoy the marketing side and I’ve been enjoying the part about managing organisations too.

At the start of the second lockdown, I had one chocolate left and I was needing a break from learning online, so I decided to set up a Facebook and Instagram to sell chocolates. I sell handmade chocolates, chocolate bars and traybakes. I’ve been running the business for a year, and it’s been going really well. The marketing part of the course taught me a lot about social media and made me interested in looking at marketing insights.

It was a strange experience learning online during the pandemic, but the staff were a great support, I've really enjoyed being back on campus the last wee while and everyone is really friendly, and the staff are brilliant, so I’d definitely recommend Fife College.

After my course I would love to make Aye Candy a full-time business. Getting a commercial kitchen and a shop is the long-term goal.
