"I needed three recent Highers from the last five years in order to be able to go on and study midwifery at university. So I decided to study part-time at Fife College to get them.
"I visited Stenton Campus and got a prospectus and spoke with an adviser who helped me find the right courses to pursue my career.
"I studied Higher: Biology, Higher: English, and Higher: Psychology. I found all of the courses very interesting and at points quite fun.
"The tutors were encouraging and very supportive throughout my time at Fife College. It was a good mix of ages in the class, which enabled a broader understanding from different viewpoints.
"Without a doubt, these courses have enabled me to go on to further study and pursue a career in midwifery.
"It was also good to get a bit of practice juggling studying part-time with work and three children!
"Since completing my Highers at Fife College, I have secured a conditional place to study midwifery at Edinburgh Napier University.
"I would certainly recommend the courses to others in my situation, I have found them all very worthwhile and also discovered that nothing is unachievable when you put your mind to it and work hard.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Fife College and gained a newfound confidence in my abilities.
"Returning to education has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and I would encourage anyone thinking about it to just go for it!"
