"Childcare wasn't something I wanted to make a career of when I left school, but it was something that has always been in my family as my mum works in childcare, so was always an option for me.
"After leaving school I lived in Aberdeen for 4 years and was trying to get into retail and fashion. But after I realised that that wasn't the thing I really wanted to do I came back home to pursue childcare as a career and I applied first for National Certificate: Early Education and Childcare and then the HNC.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed HNC: Childhood Practice as a course and there's lots of support on offer at the College. I cant fault it really.
"After I finish this year, Id like to get job as an Early Years Officer and get a few years experience before going on to study for a BA in childhood practice.
"Studying the HNC has definitely helped prepare me for the step into employment. Without the placements we've done this year there's no way I'd have the level of practical experience that I do."
