“My interest started when I was unemployed and took an infill course on an infill day on a web design course which took my interest on web design. The tutor then said I should apply for the following year which I did. I studied for two years initially starting with HNC through to the HND, then on to a BA in Visual Communication and Digital Design.
“The course was great. Starting out was mostly about digital media, finding out more about flash animation and video production then later on moved into theory and rules of graphic design and typography. I really enjoyed it and enjoyed learning all of the applications, the different techniques that I applied. It really comes together when you start to understand the design rules, theory and the practices. It really brings everything together.
“Currently, I work here at Visit Scotland I’m a digital designer. We create, market and promote all of the online material for Visit Scotland information centres that is on our website and on YouTube.
“I would recommend the course I studied because of the flexibility it gave me. It allowed me to get study, have time for friends and family and have time for work part time as well. It is definitely worth doing.”
