National Progression Award in Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical Pre-Apprentice Programme)

Part Time Intermediate Certificate programme recruited through SCP with a focus on both electrical and mechanical engineering as well as employability skills. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to apply for a range of Level 6 Engineering courses as well as some of the core skills required to apply for and be successful when seeking employment as a modern apprentice.

Who is this course for?

  • The primary focus of these qualifications is to provide candidates with a range of engineering practical skills relevant to Engineering supported by some theory where appropriate. As such these awards are suitable for those candidates who wish to become skilled crafts persons/trades persons, maintenance fitters or operatives.

What skills will I learn?

You will learn practical skills such as:
  • workshop skills using tools in a mechanical environment
  • wiring skills
  • computer aided draughting skills and the theory of a range of electrical and mechanical principles
