PDA: Counselling Children and Young People

The Professional Development Award is delivered on a part time basis over 1 semester and is ideally suited to candidates who are already working in the sector and wish to extend their skills in counselling specifically for working with children and young people. You will study through a blend of in-class and on-line learning and you will be expected to allocate additional study time as required. The course will be assessed through completion of an essay, case study formulation, and a reflective portfolio of skills practice. The target audience is qualified counsellors who are already working therapeutically with adults but who seek a specific qualification to enable them to work with children and young people (CYP).
