Who is this course for?
- This course would suits those looking to start or change their career within the built environment industry. The course is aimed at those with some industry experience or level 5 qualifications.
What skills will I learn?
- This course is enabled to build skills through experiential learning, a blend of site visits with project work in classrooms to allow a clear focus on the design process. The use of projects will allow for deeper understanding of the use of techniques needed in the process of the built environment industry opening learners eyes to the career opportunities available such as quantity surveyor, architectural technologist or designer.
- The implementation of theory into practical skills will develop understanding of reading and creating 2d drawings, creating 3d models both by hand and through current industry standards.
- The course will offer a deeper understanding of the current built environment challenges and offer opportunities to explore solutions. Units studied will include innovative prototype, introduction to construction calculations, health and safety and computer aided draughting.
What will I study?
- Block 1 will consist of hand skills taught through a project covering: model making, introduction to cad, understanding architecture and drawing for construction.
- Block 2 will focus on digital skills through project 2 that will embed 3d cad skills with, surveying, calculations, health and safety.
