This week we are celebrating all the benefits of modern apprenticeships and foundation apprenticeships during Scottish Apprenticeship Week
It’s never been more important to show our support for apprenticeships. Scottish Apprenticeship Week is a time to share the value apprenticeships can bring to individuals, employers, and the local economy.
This year’s theme is “Business Backing Talent, so all week we will be highlighting the fantastic achievements of our Foundation Apprentices, our Modern Apprentices and the local businesses who work with Fife College to provide their future workforce with the essential skills and work-based learning they need to kick start their careers.
“Before starting my apprenticeship, I studied for two years at Fife College. I studied Construction Futures at level 4 first and that’s where I found that painting and decorating was what I wanted to do.
Meet Erin, Studying part-time for a career in Painting and Decorating.
“Taking on apprentices for us is about helping provide a sustainable future for our sector. It’s vital we keep investing in apprentices to ensure we have highly trained tradespeople coming into the industry.
“It is also a great way of developing talent in our existing workforce too. Often, we will draw on those showing promise who maybe haven’t had the right opportunities before and give them a platform to develop through an apprenticeship.”
Campion Homes, a Modern Apprentice Employer who has worked with Fife College for many years.
“My favourite part about coming to Fife College is getting to work with clients. When l finish High School l plan to goto University and study software development".
