COURSE INFORMATION

This is a supported college course primarily aimed at school leavers with additional needs who have already completed a School College Partnership course, such as New Directions, in the final year of their school education or are progressing from an internally completed course. This course gives an introduction to the world of work whilst developing Core Skills, social skills and building on confidence.

You will undertake an external work placement on one of these days. Work placements are both set up and coordinated by our work placement coordinator.

  • The Core Skills of ICT, numeracy and communication will be developed and certificated on this course
  • The successful completion of a School College Partnership course, such as New Directions, from within Supported Learning
  • Possible progression on to college courses at SCQF Level 5
  • Tourism and hospitality industries
  • Hospitality chef and service uniforms – approx. £60

  • You may be required to take part in an informal conversation as part of the application process. This group/individual conversation may be an information session, a portfolio discussion, or a skills based exercise
