2024 Course Dates

  • 5 - 8 February Air Source Heat Pumps
  • 11 - 14 March Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently install and maintain heat pump systems within the Building Services Engineering (BSE) renewable sector. You'll learn everything from installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and fault rectification of heat pump systems.
  • The program will be delivered over 4 or 5 days (dependant on program choices Air Only or Air and Ground Source ) incorporating the delivery of Heat Pump Technology and/or Air Source Technology and/or Ground Source Technology. The program will culminate in both written and practical assessments.

You'll learn the ins and outs of heat pump non-refrigerant circuits, including how to:

  • effectively install, commission and handover heat pump systems
  • perform inspections, servicing, and maintenance to keep them running smoothly

Our hands-on training approach ensures that you'll gain practical experience and develop the expertise needed to excel in the field. With our comprehensive curriculum, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently handle non-refrigerant circuits in heat pump systems.

  • To apply, you'll need a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience, plus Water Regulations/Byelaws.
  • Upon completion of the program, you'll have the opportunity to progress on to the Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems or the Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems, allowing you to broaden your knowledge of available renewable sector systems.
