Why Choose Access to Qualifications, Further Study and Higher Education?

Whether you need additional qualifications to fulfill your dream of studying at degree level, or to get that job you have always wanted – we have the right course for you! And it is never too late to return to studying!

Fife College’s Pathway courses allow you to achieve the National 5s and Highers that you require for access to higher education. Many people study these to gain access to nursing courses or higher-level study in subjects such as social care, social sciences, and business.

Our Start Here for Qualifications course can help you get ready for these Pathway courses, if you have no qualifications (or very few) and are interested in returning to learning or developing your skills in academic study.

What kind of job could I do?

· Our courses are widely respected among employers and they provide an excellent route into higher-level study

· You may be able to apply for jobs where a good basic education is required

Progress to a Degree

Did you know that an HNC or HND qualification is the equivalent of first year (HNC) or second year (HND) of a Degree at university? So depending on the subject studied, successfully completing an HNC or HND at Fife College could mean that you have the opportunity to progress on to Year 2 or 3 of a related degree course at university. Completing an Access to Qualification course can give you the qualifications you need to apply for HNC/HND study. With successful completion of an HNC or HND, we offer articulation routes to years 2 or 3 of a related degree at the following universities:

Abertay University

University of Aberdeen

Heriot Watt University

Queen Margaret University

Edinburgh Napier University

Robert Gordon University

University of West Scotland

University of Highlands and Isles

University of St Andrews>
