
Planning your journey to the Dunfermline City Campus
The site is a 37-minute walk or a 11-minute cycle from Halbeath Park and Ride (depending on your pace!)
There are at least 3 pedestrian entrances from the neighbouring estates. From Dunlin Drive and Sandpiper Drive there are two shared-use footpaths (cycling and walking) coming from the main road to the entrance of the College. There are also the established roads on the perimeter of the site, with shared footpaths/cycling route.
There are 204 cycling spaces in the large cycle parking compound in the service yard at the rear right of the building. There is also space for 36 cycle spaces in a secure area within the same compound, within this area there is a changing/storage area for equipment. We also have a Maintenance Pump installed for any necessary repairs. There are lockers available for those walking or cycling into campus, as well as showers and changing facilities.

For staff we have a Cycle to Work Scheme through our partnership with Cycle Solutions which can be accessed through the MyLifestyle platform.
There are two bus stops on Calaiswood Crescent, on both sides of the road, opposite our car park. Buses will be coming from Sandpiper Drive, and there is already a bus stop on Dunlin Drive.
Buses that pass near the Dunfermline Campus are: 19 (Dunfermline campus to Rosyth) and the 33 (Dunfermline campus to Kirkcaldy bus station) number x24, and services 1/1A and 2/2A will also serve the campus, running between Dunfermline city centre and Fife Leisure Park.

Those under the age of 22 years old living in Scotland can apply for a free Young Persons nation-wide bus travel card.
Fife College staff can also access a reduced Day-rider bus ticket from Stagecoach in the following way:

This will open a webpage, which they can scroll down and click "Get the Stagecoach Bus App"

This will open the app and show them a message about joining a travel scheme, then when they click Submit scheme ID, it will confirm they're started to join the Fife College scheme

They'll get an email sent to them with a verification code, which they'll enter on the app

They will now have joined the scheme and can access discounted tickets.
Dunfermline Queen Margaret train station is a 41-minute walk from the new Dunfermline campus.
Dunfermline Queen Margaret station has direct and frequent links to Edinburgh (37 minutes). Those traveling from Edinburgh direction by train should take the Glenrothes with Thornton line, or the Cowdenbeath line. Those traveling from Northeast of Fife should take the train to Edinburgh (Waverley) line, however, this requires a change at Inverkeithing station.
Railcards can be purchased for those aged 16-25 years, providing a 1/3 discount on all train tickets.
Halbeath Park and Ride is located to the east of Dunfermline at Junction 3 off the M90, providing links from the West of Fife to cities including Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Bus services from here provide travel to Dunfermline city centre and include stops at Dunfermline campus. This bus journey to campus takes approx. 17 minutes, or you could walk from the Park and Ride to the campus (37-minute walk).

The new Dunfermline City Campus is situated off the M90 making it very accessible from areas including Perth (35 minutes) or Edinburgh (30 minutes). Driving from Kirkcaldy takes only 20 minutes.
Google Maps is the recommended platform to use for following directions to campus.
If travelling from the north-east, travel via the M90 or A92, then take the exit onto Sanderling Way to Calaiswood Crescent.
If travelling from the south (Edinburgh direction), travel up the M90 to Sanderling Way in Fife. Take exit 3 from M90 and continue on Sanderling Way to Dunfermline Learning Campus.
If alternative transport modes are not feasible and you do decide to drive, there are 379 car parking spaces available including spaces for those with accessibility needs + 44 overflow spaces. Alternative parking can be found at the Fife Retail park, please check restrictions. We kindly ask that there is no parking in nearby residential areas as we strive to be courteous neighbours in our community.

The new state-of-the-art Dunfermline Learning Campus has been designed with learners in mind. Every aspect of the new campus has been and is being carefully created to give learners the best learning experience and facilities for their course.
The new Fife College facility at the Dunfermline Learning Campus is the first major development to adopt the Scottish Government’s ‘Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard’, and will be ‘net zero ready’ on completion.


Facilities within the new campus
Inside the new campus you can expect industry-standard workshops for engineering and construction, a university hub so learners can study to degree level with a range of university partners on campus, a purpose-built learning café, sports hall, and an events and conference centre to cater for different college, community and business events.
In addition to the indoor facilities, the campus will be fully equipped with brand new outdoor facilities, an external terrace, outdoor spaces for our childcare courses, external dining areas for the hospitality students, covered outdoor workshop areas for built environment courses and a range of outdoor teaching and gathering areas.
