A new initiative from Fife College Students’ Association (FCSA) is helping College students and staff get on their bikes.

The FCSA has recently launched ‘Get On Our Bike' scheme is offering students and staff the chance to rent a bike for just £2.50 a week.

The scheme is aimed at supporting those who are keen to take up cycling but might not be able to afford a new bike.

No deposit is required and there is no long term contract. Students or staff looking to use the service simply let the FCSA know what size of bike required and how long they need it for.  They’ll also provide a helmet too.

As part of the new scheme, the FCSA has provided a new bike shelter at the College’s Dunfermline Campus.  The shelter project has been funded by Cycling Scotland.

Carol Hunter, Fife College Students’ Association President, said: “I’m really excited that we’ve been able to offer more secure space for our cyclists to park up. We’re keen to help improve the wellbeing of our students and staff. - Making it easier for them to get to College with help from our new shed and our Get On Our Bikes scheme are key features of that.”

To find out more you can drop into the Cycle Hub in the Dunfermline campus, message the FCSA on Facebook or email fcsa@fife.ac.uk.
