Welcome from the Principal

Hugh Hall

Dear Applicant

I am delighted that you are considering applying for the role of Director of Business Development here at Fife College.

As one of Scotland’s leading higher and further education colleges, we are at the forefront of supporting economic recovery and growth through the delivery of innovative, relevant and inclusive education and skills programmes in Fife and beyond.

We are in year three of a very clear and compelling five year Strategy which is underpinned by a talented and committed Team and the necessary infrastructure to deliver a first class learning experience. A major strategic aim for the College is to build even stronger relations with our industry and other partners and drive up commercial revenues. Our support for regional businesses and the economy, with a clear focus on employability has never been more relevant and necessary as we emerge from the current pandemic.

We are keen to recruit an ambitious, engaging and energetic Director of Business Development to join our senior leadership team - to lead transformational change, drive growth and deliver real success for the College. The Director of Business Development will also oversee the College’s Carnegie Conference Centre and will lead in the development, launch and future success of the Innovation Hub which will be established within the College’s new Dunfermline Learning Campus. This role is a superb opportunity for a talented and innovative individual who likes a challenge, is keen to make an impact and thrives on supporting others.

You would join us at a hugely exciting time. What we are doing at the College is fundamental to the rebuilding of the economy, working with businesses and governments to identify and fill skills gaps and drive growth; working within communities to provide opportunities for all, regardless of background; and working with students of all ages to provide the life enhancing skills, knowledge and resilience that will help shape their future success.

In addition to our fantastic facilities, including five campuses, a University Hub, a Conference Centre and state-of-the-art training and learning resources, we are also on track to deliver our new learning campus in Dunfermline in 2024 which promises to be transformational for education in Scotland.

If you feel you can bring the skills, experience and energy to this exciting and challenging, we would be delighted to hear from you.
