Advanced Certificate: Oral Healthcare

The three qualifications provide a nationally certificated, quality assured framework to prepare the learner for a dental career. It provides an introduction to the General Dental Council (GDC). The NC in Oral Health Care: Preparing for Practice at SCQF Level 6 will be awarded upon successful completion of the two NPA qualifications.

Who is this course for?


What skills will I learn?

  • You will acquire the knowledge and skills required in patient safety and confidentiality, infection control, the protection of vulnerable children and adults and how to deal with medical emergencies.

What will I study?

  • SCQF Level 5: Introduction to Basic First Aid, Oral Health Improvement: An introduction, Infection Prevention & Decontamination and Dental Anatomy.
  • SCQF level 6: Dental care Professionals: Fitness to Practice and Reflective Practice, Oral Health Assessment: An Introduction, Dental Patient Care: An Introduction.
