EAL: SVQ Performing Engineering Operations at SCQF Level 5

The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Performing Engineering Operations at SCQF level 5 enables candidates to demonstrate competence in job related skills in their particular area of work and expertise. The qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards set and published by Enginuity, the sector skills council for the sector. The SVQ covers mandatory areas such as complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements and using and interpreting engineering data and documentation.

Who is this course for?

  • This course is a practical based coursed and would suit those who aim to gain a modern apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.

What skills will I learn?

  • Safety Compliance: Understanding and adhering to statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements.
  • Engineering Data Interpretation: Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation.
  • Hand Fitting Techniques: Producing components using hand fitting techniques.
  • Competence in Engineering Tasks: Demonstrating competence in completing engineering tasks related to your job role.

What will I study?

  • You will gain a SVQ Level 2 in performing engineering operations and units will follow one of the following 4 pathways Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Fabrication & Welding or Pipefitting.
  • Please note that spaces will be offered dependant on availability and preference will be noted at interview stage.
