Jewellery Evening Course

This evening course is designed for individuals interested in developing jewellery-making skills for personal, professional, or career transition purposes. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some prior experience, the course will help build your confidence, strengthen your practical abilities, and improve your communication skills within a creative environment.

Duration:

  • Course starts from the 24th September 2025 until the 17th December 2025.
  • 6pm until 9pm
  • There will be a maximum of 16 students per course.

What will I learn on the course?

  • Designing from source
  • Saw piercing
  • Soldering
  • Metal texturing (including hammering and rolling mill printing)
  • Doming and forming techniques
  • Jewellery findings
  • Finishing and polishing methods
  • Basic stone setting techniques
  • Overview of tools and materials, including supplier guidance

You will be introduced to a range of core jewellery-making techniques, including saw piercing, silver soldering, hammering, metal texturing, doming, forming, creating findings, finishing, and basic stone setting. These versatile skills can be applied in various contexts—whether you aim to start your own business, explore self-employment, or pursue further study in the field.

What further course options are available?

  • Upon successful completion, and with a positive lecturer reference, you may be eligible to progress to our full-time Advanced Certificate Jewellery course or the HND Jewellery programme.
  • This course provides an excellent foundation for those looking to develop professional skills and explore opportunities within jewellery and related creative industries.
