The aim of this course is to enable those working in a childcare environment to improve their working practice by developing their skills, knowledge, and understanding of their role in the workplace. This course will allow you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

This course is for staff working in a childcare setting where they are supporting children and young people. This is for staff who may be in a more senior role/PSA3

What further course options are available?

The SVQ qualification itself is delivered as part of a continuous course that can be assessed throughout the year. You will create a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate that you have appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out your role competently in the workplace or placement.
You will complete 4 mandatory units including Effective Communication, Safeguarding and 4 optional units that you will chose with your assessor that will be related to your work role .
