This course is designed to update experienced gas engineers enabling them to prove their competence in the field of tightness testing and purging of pipework exceeding 1m3 in volume. The program is also suitable for qualified gas operatives who wish to extend your scope to include testing and purging.

  • The programme is for you if you are an engineer wishing to renew existing ACS certificates.
  • This programme is also suitably qualified if you are an engineer wishing to extend your range.

What will I learn on the course?

The Testing and Purging (TPCP1) course is delivered over 3 days and composes the following:
  • Core competencies - Installation surveys
  • Volume calculations
  • Soundness testing requirements
  • Leakage rates; IGE/UP/1A
  • Purging requirements
  • Purging rates and vent gas testing
  • Certificates are valid for 5 years. Holders are eligible for reassessment within 6 months of expiry
