Who is this course for?
- This course is suitable for anyone who works with people, at any level of an organisation.
What will I learn on the course?
- You will be introduced to the principles of Trauma Informed Practice to tier one and two of NES’s ‘Transforming Psychological Trauma’ framework.
- You will understand the principles of ‘The Promise Scotland' for care experienced individuals, relevant to Trauma Informed Practice.
- You will learn about growth mindsets & the impact of these and environmental stressors on individuals abilities to learn & change
- You will develop awareness of personal and organisational resources, and responsibilities, to minimise the effects of vicarious trauma.
- Successful completion of this course will prepare you for Units 2-4 of the group award qualification 'Implementing Trauma Informed Organisations', and implementation of trauma informed approaches to working within organisations, and with others.
WHAT SKILLS WILL I DEVELOP ON THE COURSE?
- You will meet Scottish National Occupational Standards, from three frameworks, for working to a trauma informed standard.
- You will identify the limits and boundaries of your own role in relation to Trauma Informed practice.
- Identify your organisations responsibilities for providing support & reflection.
- Learn foundational skills in providing Trauma Informed support.
- Develop skills and knowledge to allow you to undertake future learning to become trauma skilled.
