Trauma Skilled Practice: Understanding Experiences of our Organisation, Systems, and Practice

This course supports you to meet all occupational standards up to Tier 2 of the National Trauma Training Framework. Two days of in person training and online learning activities contextualise theory into workplace practice, with a full day of training in 'Trauma Informed Coaching'. The 'Trauma Informed Coaching' brief intervention supports you to embody the five principles of trauma informed practice in one to one, group, or peer to peer settings.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone working in a role where they are likely to be working with individuals who are experiencing the long term effects of trauma.

What will I learn on the course?

You will learn how to:
  • Identify behaviours which may be driven by traumatic experiences
  • Demographics most likely to be trauma affected
  • How to maximise the principles of trauma informed practice in one to one settings
  • What to expect from their organisation to ensure that their wellbeing is maintained and how to ask for this support

Upon completion you will be able to:
  • Evidence that you meet all aspects of 'what workers need to know' & 'what workers need to do' of the NTTF.
  • You will also meet all occupational standards for stage two of 'Scotlands Roadmap Towards Trauma Informed & Responsive Organisations'.
