Highers can improve your future job prospects, help you move on to further study at HNC/HND level or simply allow you to gain some new skills and qualifications.
Many of these are offered either for daytime study or as evening classes within the College, and sometimes as transitional day release programmes. All Highers courses
Progression made easy
To make it as easy as possible for you to progress to higher level courses at the College, we use an Internal Learner Reference (ILR) system.
Your ILR is an open and transparent tool that helps promote positive behaviour and employability skills, and also forms the foundation for discussions about progression to further courses.
To support your progression to a higher level college course you should meet the course entry requirements and have a positive ILR.
You can view your ILR at any time through your Student Portal.
"I needed three recent Highers from the last five years in order to be able to go on and study midwifery at university. So I decided to study part-time at Fife College to get them."
Meet Katrina, studied part-time for a career in Midwifery.
