COURSE INFORMATION

Lights down and curtain up! Or Scene 1, Take 1, Action! If you wish to develop a career in Acting and Performance, studying at Fife College could soon lead to those familiar phrases being part of your routine. The Acting and Theatre Performance course is designed for you if you wish to develop a foundation for progression to further study, and will give you the skills and knowledge for access to a career in the theatre industry. Whether you see yourself in a role on stage or behind the scenes, this is an exciting course that will develop your talents towards success and recognition.

The key skills of supporting the narrative are realised through use of voice, action and emotion. Understanding how to control your voice, your limbs and your posture will help bring scripts to life!


You will develop:
  • Drama Skills in acting, movement, voice and theatre performance
  • Problem solving

These versatile skills are useful across many of the platforms that actors find themselves working - Stage, screen, streaming media, radio, voice work, narration etc.
  • One Year full-time
  • You will usually be in college over 2-3 days

  • Four National 5s at Grade C or above including English or;
  • Adult returners with similar qualifications and/ or experience will be considered on an individual basis.
 
Internal Candidates:
  • Intermediate Certificate: Acting and Theatre Performance with minimum 13 Assessed Credits and a positive ILR
  • Successful students progress to HNC Acting and Performance or drama-related programmes.
  • If you would rather not study at HN or Degree level then it may be possible for you to find employment in performing (drama, dance, music theatre); arts promotion/ management at a junior level.
  • Appropriate clothing and/or footwear may be necessary.

  • This group/individual conversation may be an information session, a portfolio discussion, or a skills based exercise.
