This course provides the underpinning knowledge to enable fire safety duties in the workplace to be undertaken more effectively. It is relevant for managers, supervisors, and employee representatives and other duty holders with responsibility for fire safety and fire risk assessment in the workplace.

This comprehensive course gives an excellent grounding in the fundamentals of Fire Safety Management and is a valuable addition to the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

  • The Fire Hazard and Control (FC1) unit is currently offered on a day-release or block release basis
  • Day Release: one day a week over a period of five weeks

  • There are no entry requirements, although you are required to write a short report, requiring a degree of written communication skills
  • The Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate can provide a base qualification for those with responsibilities in fire safety
  • You may wish to widen their knowledge of health and safety by completing a NEBOSH General Certificate that may lead to progression to Diploma or VQ4 level working towards chartered membership of IOSH
  • The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate is relevant to managers, supervisors and employee representatives with fire safety and/or fire risk assessment responsibilities
