Hospitality Skills Training Programme

The Hospitality Skills Training Programme is part of the Hospitality Skills Project which is a regional initiative under the Tay Cities Deal designed to address skills shortages, improve recruitment and 
retention, and create inclusive career pathways in the hospitality sector.  

• Plug hospitality skills gaps through tailored training.  
• Align training with employer needs and future growth opportunities.  
• Promote diversity and inclusion across the workforce. 

• Upskill and reskill the existing workforce.  
• Attract new entrants to the sector.  
• Support progression through structured pathways.  

1. Entry-level exposure: Taster sessions and Foundation Apprenticeships. 
2. Introductory skills: SCQF Level 4–6 courses and work placements.  
3. Intermediate skills: Modern Apprenticeships and SCQF Level 6–8 courses.  
4. Advanced and specialist skills: Leadership and management training (SCQF Level 8–11).  
5. Continuous upskilling: Short courses, CPD, and vendor qualifications. 

• Regional Intervention Model commissioning delivery partners.  
• Employer-led curriculum design aligned to real-world needs.  
• Integration with schools, colleges, and tertiary education.  
• Flexible delivery modes: full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, immersive learning.
