Hello, I’m Stuart Morris, currently studying an HND in Fitness, Health and Exercise at Fife College.

Before coming to college, I spent 30 years in the police. After recently retiring, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do next. I knew, though, that I wanted to pursue something I genuinely enjoyed. My wife encouraged me to follow something I was passionate about and for me, that’s always been fitness.

I’ve always tried to keep myself in good shape, so I decided to take the step back into education and enrol on the HNC in Fitness, Health and Exercise at Fife College.

I really enjoyed every aspect of the course, learning more about how the body works, the importance of fitness, resistance training, and the benefits of good nutrition and healthy eating. After successfully completing my HNC, continuing on to the HND felt like the natural next step.

I’m now nearing the end of my HND and have been accepted to study Sports Science at Abertay University, so I’m excited to continue this journey even further.

My experience at Fife College has been extremely positive. It’s a very friendly and welcoming environment - quite different from school as I remember it. The staff are supportive and approachable, and as a more mature student, I always felt comfortable asking questions and knew I would get helpful answers.

I’ve really enjoyed my time here, not just academically but socially as well—meeting people from all walks of life and of all ages has been a big part of the experience.
