Skill Areas

At our Glenrothes and Dunfermline City Campuses we work with employers on upskilling training and certification for qualified electricians, including 18th Edition, Periodic Inspection & Testing, Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation; and cross-skilling courses covering single and three-phase systems, PLCs, electrical plant maintenance, fault finding on low voltage systems; and the importance of safe systems of work.

From practical skills training in the maintenance hydraulic and pneumatic systems, shafts and couplings and valves, to the development of manual milling and turning, cnc machining and industrial automation skills, Fife College regularly works with employers to respond to identified training needs.

With 56 welding bays between our Glenrothes and Dunfermline Campuses, and a range of fixed and portable pipe and plate cutting and prepping machinery, Fife College delivers training from appreciation level courses for novices to welder approval testing (‘coding’) to standards including BS EN 4872.

AutoCAD training to produce 2D drawings in the mechanical and construction industries, and Inventor training to produce 3D and 2D drawings and assemblies for the mechanical industry. Training can be bespoke to organisational requirements, or as part of a HNC delivered on a part time basis.

Fife College has been offering the full range of IOSH and NEBOSH courses for many years. Alongside these critical certifications for HSE practitioners, supervisors and field staff we also offer training and certification in an expansive range of other HSE training, including but not limited to Accident Investigation, COSHH Assessment and COSHH Awareness, Working at Height. Courses can be delivered on client premises and can be tailored to encompass existing organisational practices.

Having delivered the UK’s first Modern Apprenticeship for Wind Turbine Maintenance Technicians back in 2010, Fife College (then Carnegie College) remains well-positioned to collaborate with industry once again, and develop essential turbine maintenance skills training. GWO Basic Technical Training will soon be added to the provision, utilising the excellent resources, such as our FESTO Nacelle Wind Turbine Learning System.

Our Project Management courses equip participants with the essential methodologies and tools required for effective project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Our PRINCE2® and APM courses introduce recognised methodologies for project success. Aligned with industry best practices, ensuring learners can apply these competencies in real-world scenarios, improving their project outcomes and, ultimately, adding great value to their organisation.
