Course Information
This Modern Apprenticeship supports businesses in the automotive industry working across vehicle maintenance and repair, vehicle body and paint, vehicle parts or vehicle fitting.
It is aimed at employees who need to build their skills and should have an interest in mechanical things and show a commitment to working in the industry. They can work in maintenance, repair, body and paint, parts or fitting.
What Will I Learn?
A relevant SQA SVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at SCQF Level 5 (IMI).
Workplace Core Skills:
Communication SCQF Level 4
Working With Others SCQF Level 4
Problem Solving SCQF Level 4
Information and Communication Technology SCQF Level 4
Numeracy SCQF Level 4
Core Skills will need to be achieved and certificated separately due to insufficient opportunities for being embedded within the SVQ mandatory units.
Qualifications Gained
Modern Apprenticeship - Automotive SCQF Level 5
Duration/Attendance
2 years to complete
Entry Requirements
To start at this level, there are no formal entry requirements.
Further Course Options
On successful completion, apprentices may progress to: MA Automotive SCQF Level 6 or 7 or job roles such as technician, parts adviser, specialist tyre fitter.
