Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is designed to prepare learners to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace. You will learn basic lifesaving first aid techniques as well as being able to deal with minor injuries and illnesses.This course combines both practical and theory training. Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear - e.g., trousers and flat footwear. This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years.

Who is this course for?

It is aimed at people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide help in various emergency first aid situations.

What qualifications will I gain?

  • Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

What will I learn on the course?

  • Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
  • Choking
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries
  • Preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment

Practical skills will be assessed throughout the day and the course will conclude with a short multiple-choice assessment.
