This practical four-day leadership development programme is designed for managers and aspiring leaders in care settings. Participants will explore values-based and ethical leadership, SSSC Codes of Practice, management and communication styles, conflict resolution, inclusive practice, and effective team leadership. Through self-reflection, interactive exercises, case studies, and action learning, learners will build the confidence and skills to lead teams, manage challenging situations, foster positive workplace cultures, and implement meaningful improvements in practice. The programme supports professional development and promotes safe, effective, person-centred care.

What will I learn on the course?

Day 1 establishes the professional and ethical foundation for leadership in social care. It focuses strongly on SSSC Codes of Practice and professional standards, ensuring managers understand their responsibilities.
Day 2 focuses on developing leadership capability and understanding how managers lead teams effectively.
Day 3 addresses complex interpersonal challenges, particularly relevant to leadership in care settings.
Day 4 consolidates learning and focuses on effective communication, leadership behaviours and implementation into practice.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
