COURSE INFORMATION
This course is suitable for those with a recognised ability in art and/or design who wish to study a jewellery specialism. It provides you with a strong foundation in the design and manufacture of contemporary jewellery.
You will learn a range of techniques related to jewellery design and will develop workshop skills using a wide range of precious and non-precious materials. You will be introduced to 3D design using 3D software, haptic control, and 3D printing.

In addition to a portfolio of work, you must possess one of the following:
- Four National 5s at grade C or above
- Intermediate Certificate: Art and Design Portfolio
- Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 5
- Mature students will be considered on an individual basis based on a portfolio of art and design work
- HNC: Jewellery SCQF Level 7
- Degree courses specialising in jewellery at art college or university
- This course provides the basis for a career in jewellery design and/or manufacture and can also offer access to varied opportunities in art and design related fields
- You may be required to take part in an informal conversation as part of the application process. This group/individual conversation may be an information session, a portfolio discussion, or a skills based exercise
