Fife College is celebrating after making the shortlist in two categories at this year’s CDN College Awards.
The College has been shortlisted for the Research and Innovation Award for ‘Trauma-Informed by Design: Transforming Learning, Support and Student Outcomes’, and the Learning and Teaching Award for ‘Transforming Curriculum Through Live Broadcast: An Industry-Embedded Partnership with the University of St Andrews Music Department’.
The Trauma-Informed by Design programme has embedded research-informed Trauma-Informed Practice across the College, transforming how staff engage with learners and provide support. The approach has contributed to student successful completion rates reaching an eight-year high, while early withdrawal rates are at their lowest level in the same period.
The live broadcast project sees Fife College Sound Production and Media & Communications students work alongside the University of St Andrews Music Department to deliver more than 30 live concert broadcasts each year. Students take responsibility for audio, multi-camera operation, vision mixing and streaming, gaining authentic industry experience with real audiences and professional performers.
Fife College’s successful submissions made the cut from 195 entries received from across Scotland’s college sector.

The CDN (College Development Network) College Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and impact across Scotland’s college sector.
The winners will be announced at the CDN College Awards ceremony on Thursday 3 December 2026 at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow.
