COURSE INFORMATION
Thinking of becoming a paramedic and need to develop your skills in preparation of university study? This course will aid the development of your skills in communication and decision-making in a variety of situations. Whilst studying a range of subjects, we will provide a basis on which to build your healthcare knowledge.- You will develop team working skills

- Strong academic study skills such investigation and research skills
- Aiding progression to university
- One academic year, full time.
- Study will include human development and care values along with an opportunity to learn about the regulation of the health and social care sector, its history and challenges.
- Employability skills, including interview and communication skills will also be developed.
Some of the units studied are:
- Human Development and Behaviour
- Physiology and Health
- Pharmacology: An introduction
- Values & Principles of Care
- Understanding Mental Health Issues
- Introduction to First Aid
- Nat 5 English and Nat 5 Mathematics / Application of Maths at A or B plus 2 other Nat 5's at A-C.
- Minimum age of 17 at course start date.
- You will need to be physically and mentally fit to work at a desk, in front of a computer and standing for periods of time in a laboratory before applying for this course. Memory skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments as a necessity. You should also be self-motivated and confident.
- BSc Paramedic Science.
- HNC study in the field of - Healthcare Practice, Social Services and Additional Support Needs.
- Employment in a variety of Health and Social Care settings, Nursing and Paramedic medicine roles.
- Up to £100 for expenses that will include stationery and equipment for academic study.
- Face to face interview and information session and you will also be required to participate in a task.
