WHAT IS A FOUNDATION APPRENTICESHIP?
As a school pupil, a Foundation Apprenticeship gives you early exposure to the world of work, helping you to develop the skills, experience, and knowledge you’ll need when you leave school.
For you, it’s the chance to get a head start in your career by gaining an industry-recognised qualification, work on real projects and broaden your career options.
Fife College and Fife Council are working in partnership to ensure that Fife Secondary school pupils benefit from a fantastic, full range of Foundation Apprenticeships.
Foundation Apprenticeships are now recognised by all colleges and universities, and you can use them, along with other SQA National 5/Higher qualifications, to gain access to a Modern Apprenticeship or Higher Education including degree pathways. You may also be able to access some Higher National Certificate (HNC) study routes at Fife College with your FA qualification and no SQA Higher qualifications.
