This is the theory component of a manufacturing Modern Apprenticeship. It covers a variety of core subjects in the principles of manufacturing technology and also a significant practical workshop based units to enhance skills.

One of the following:

  • Three National 5s at Grade C or above which must include Maths, English, and Physics or a
  • Technology subject
  • National Certificate: Engineering Practice SCQF Level 5
  • Another relevant engineering course SCQF Level 5 including Maths: Craft 1 and 2
  • Relevant industry experience and/or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

On successful completion (with Maths: Tech 1) progression may be possible to:

  • HNC: Manufacturing Engineering SCQF Level 7
  • HNC: Engineering Systems SCQF Level 7
  • HNC: Computer Aided Draughting and Design SCQF Level 7
