COURSE INFORMATION

The Level 3 Site Carpentry Diploma provides you with the opportunity to acquire, enhance, and apply the essential skills required for pursuing a career in Site Carpentry. You will work independently, focusing on the core aspects of carpentry and joinery. Classes will be conducted in the evening, with an expectation of on-campus attendance for two nights per week. 

You are encouraged to continue practicing what you have learned in the workplace between classes. Approximately 75% of the course will be completed in a real work environment. Assessment for the course will include multiple-choice question papers and timed practical assessments. Successful completion of the course requires prior completion of the 6706-33 City and Guilds award.
  • Fundamental manual dexterity. 
  • Practical expertise in carpentry and joinery. 
  • Theoretical understanding of carpentry and joinery.
  •  2 nights per-week for 1 year.
This program enables candidates to acquire, enhance, and apply the necessary skills for pursuing employment or advancing their careers in Site Carpentry. 
The program encompasses the following skills: 

  • Executing initial flooring and roofing installations
  • Completing secondary fixing tasks
  • Performing initial roofing and staircase construction
  • Carrying out secondary fixing work involving double doors and mouldings
  • Establishing and utilising both stationary and portable machinery
  • To enrol in this course, it is a prerequisite that you have already successfully completed the 6706-23 City and Guilds award.
  • Further study could be HNC Construction Management.
  • Modern apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery 
  • Employer led application
