A competition to spot a recently branded Foundation Apprenticeship car has been launched by Fife College and Fife Council.
Students will be in with a chance of winning prizes by logging their sightings of the car on the Fife College website during November, December and January – at the end of each month the entries will be collated and matched up to a winning time, date and location.
Each month the winner will receive a Fife College goody bag with freebies and an Amazon gift voucher with an overall winner chosen from all month’s entries winning a significant prize.
The College and Fife Council’s newly branded car is being used by the College’s School College Partnership team to raise awareness of the Skills Development Scotland Foundation Apprenticeship qualifications.
The car and competition has been launched as a recent reports shows there has been a 45% increase in pupils on School College Partnership courses in Fife.
Latest figures have also shown a 9.5% increase in the number of pupils completing their Foundation Apprenticeship course.
Foundation Apprenticeships are open to senior phase pupils at all secondary schools in Fife. Taken as a subject choice alongside Highers and Nationals, pupils spend time learning the theory and gaining valuable experience in a workplace environment.

“It’s fantastic to see our Foundation Apprenticeship car out and about in Fife now. We are also excited to launch our spot the Foundation Apprenticeship car competition which we hope will encourage more young people to find out about the benefits of Foundation Apprenticeships.”

Skills Development Scotland’s National Manager in the Development and Delivery of Foundation and Graduate Apprenticeships, Graeme Hendry said: “Foundation Apprenticeships are designed with industry, so young people are gaining the qualifications and developing skills employers want.
“Not only do Foundation Apprenticeships give pupils a head start with experience in their chosen sector, pupils, teachers, parents and employers report that they are also providing vital skills needed for the workplace, such as communication, team working and self-management.”
Fife College works in partnership with Fife Council and Skills Development Scotland to ensure Fife benefits from a fantastic, full range of Foundation Apprenticeships through the School College Partnership.
Foundation Apprenticeships offered in Fife include accountancy, business skills, civil engineering, software development, IT hardware, creative media, children and young people, engineering, scientific technologies, financial services and social services.
Skills Development Scotland developed Foundation Apprenticeships in partnership with education and industry, with support from the European Social Fund.
